Newblue Titler Pro question
on Apr 24, 2014 at 10:50:05 pm

I recently upgraded to Vegas 13 and did not include Titler Pro. I see that I have a Newblue trial version which I can purchase for $80 with the NAB20 code.

Is this the same as Titler Pro 3?

Titler Pro 3 is not yet for sale at the NewBlue website. Titler Pro 2.0 is for sale at $199 minus the current 20% NAB discount.

NewBlue has taken down the Tiler Pro 1.0 product which did have a price of $99.

Titler Pro 3 is for sale for $99 at the time of Vegas Pro 13 upgrade.

Thanks for the info!

So, from Vegas 13 I open the NewBlue Titler and it shows version 1.0 (trial version). When I click "Activate Product" it takes me to the website showing NewBlue Titler Pro for Windows at $99.99 (enter code to save an additional $20).

I guess I have the option to purchase the version 1.0 for $80. Since I already purchased Vegas 13, I cannot purchase the upcoming version 3 for $99, right?

Vegas 13 does not come with Titler Pro 1.0. Vegas 12 and Vegas 11 did. You probably got your TP 1.0 from Vegas 11/12. That bundled version of TP 1.0 will not work in Vegas 13. It is licensed only for the version it was bundled with.

As for Vegas 13 and the $99 offer for Titler Pro 3. AFAIK that only is possible at the time of Vegas 13 upgrade. If you already upgraded to 13 but did not go for the titler pro 3, then I'll bet that you can talk to Sony customer service to get the $99 offer.

Yeah, I may check with Sony to see if they'll let me purchase for the bargain price. I was hesitant to pull the trigger since with TP in Vegas 11 it was so unstable. Hopefully the kinks have been worked out.

NewBlue very recently moved TitlerPro into its own process separate from Vegas. TP2 made this change and TP3 is the same. Titler Pro requires GPU support. NewBlue says this change was to get TP out of the compatibility mess that is the Vegas GPU implementation. Not to say that NewBlue has not had their own GPU issues, but at least now any issues are theirs alone and not mixed up with Vegas.

Joseph, if you did not choose the Titler Pro 3 offer when upgrading to VP13, you can still contact Sony Customer Service and get the offer.

Joseph, you are correct that Titler Pro 1 is not included with Vegas Pro 13. Titler Pro 3 is a significant update to Titler Pro 1 with all the features of Titler Pro 1 plus Titler Pro 2 and the new features found only in Titler Pro 3.

When upgrading to Vegas Pro 13, you are given the offer to also upgrade to Titler Pro 3 for $99 and you will also be given a free Lower 3rds package worth $60. It is definitely more worth-while to upgrade to Titler Pro 3 than to purchase Titler Pro 1 as both are the same price and you also get the Lower 3rds package with Titler Pro 3.
