I saw the video below:

http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/video/collections-nab2014/video-announcing_vegas13

It's the NAB presentation on the new features of Vegas Pro 13.

For those who've seen it and have been doing some research on the new update, what are your views on it?

So, far, unless I'm missing something, I'm not SUPER excited, but I am somewhat excited.

Not super excited at all, But decent enough.
But most of all im hoping for better stability
for more of its users. Vegas is developing a reputation
of instability across the net and i dont like that!

I won't have a strong opinion until I use it, but nothing seems that remarkable about it so far other than the fact that they've taken longer than usual to release this, meaning they've hopefully gotten rid of a lot of bugs.

There is nothing in ver. 13 that I would be taking advantage of, so no reason for me to upgrade (unless they offer it for some nice low price).

They say it will be faster (That would be good).

I never upgraded to 12, so I'll probably get 13 to be able to edit 4k video. However, if I had 12 I'm not sure I'd upgrade unless it was inexpensive.

[Angelo Mike] "I never upgraded to 12, so I'll probably get 13 to be able to edit 4k video."

Depends on the 4K video. 4K was first supported in Vegas 9. However, if I'm editing 4K in AVC, I'm probably going to want Vegas 12 or 13.

I'm not terribly excited about the new features. That's not always the thing, though. Most new versions contain hundreds of little tweaks, and that's really where I find value. I wasn't terribly excited about "3D" support either (that whole lack of any "3D" cameras, for one, and general annoyance as people saying "3D" when they mean "stereoscopic"). The tablet markup is useless for me until they support Android, but even then, not sure I'll use it. And I'm just me, so collaboration is somewhat limited (guess it might have some value discussing edits away from the workstation) and proxy-first seems worthless to me. And I already own Hitfilm.

On the other hand, "fast" is worth money. "Bug-reduced" even more money (nothing's bug free, but I do recall back when Vegas was the least buggy professional software I used in any discipline...)

For me, it will be the 4k coming out of the Panasonic GH4, which I'll render out for Cineform, which I'll use in turn to turn it into 1080p 4:4:4 video to color grade.

Well it would then be a good idea to upgrade to Vegas 13 when it arrives.

and one more thing they should have implemented long time ago. Bins with different sequences (subprojects) in one project. I dont see this option so far.

[Grzegorz Kwiatkowski] "should have implemented long time ago. Bins with different sequences (subprojects) in one project."

Sequences will probably never happen. Vegas nests full project files, so that is it's way to treat a group of things as a unified entity in some other timeline.
