That would be a good move to make it available for Mac users.

+1

Vegas Pro is the only reason I keep Windows around anymore. Everything else I do is on the Mac these days.

It would really widen its user base and then be a contender
with Final Cut X.

Indeed it would. FCP X is very "Vegas Pro"-like.

Well... it's "official"! I got this email from Sony about NAB this morning:

Announcing Vegas® Pro 13!

...with one feature leak:

Win the Loudness Wars with New Metering Options in Sound Forge™ and Vegas Pro

;-)

Ouch... I don't want that! And oddly enough, I have used Vegas for more recent audio-only mixing projects than anything else. The Loudness Wars are destroying music... the only way to win that war is to not participate.

Yea, that's kind of an odd way to advertise that features. It can be interpreted in several ways. One is the loudness wars in music. The other is the loudness wars in broadcast between the program providers and the commercials. You win by not having your program rejected because it is too loud. You DO want to win that war. Especially if you are paying a post house to make you HDCAM tapes for submission because when your submission gets rejected, you have to pay to get another tape made. No fun at all!
