Blender? Anything else? I don't want to be stuck with a ransomware program, i.e. paying monthly even if I'm not using it.

OK, so After Effects is NOT a 3D modeling program. It can support the import of 3D models but you don't create 3D models in it. So what exactly are you looking to do?

3D Compositing programs:
After Effects
Boris RED
Motion (Apple only)
HitFilm

3D Modeling Programs:
Blender
Hexagon
Carrara Pro
Cinema 4D
Maya
3DS Max

If you are look for a 3D compositing program then Boris RED plugs into Vegas Pro and can run many After Effects filters. HitFilm also plugs into Vegas Pro. Both can be purchased and don't hold you hostage like Adobe does.

Well, what Blender does, I guess. I'd like to have some knowledge of 3D animation. Rather than run through a bunch of ideas for little things I'd like to learn, basically 3D modeling and text/logos.

In one video (though I probably can't put in the time to learn animation quickly enough before the deadline), I'm making a video showing a company touring across the country. Rather than use stock plane footage, which is shot on under powered cameras, I might want to create a plane animation from an angle I choose and make it a little stylized. That's just one example.

Here's a previous version of the video I did just using Vegas:

if you're not willing to invest a LOT of time, you won't be making any 3D models of your own any time soon. It sounds like what you really want to do is control 3D models that you can download or buy, (e.g., airplanes, etc.).

I would check out DAZ Studio. It's free, it's easy to learn, there is tons of content, and it allows you to manipulate models easily. Also check out iClone from Reallusion. Not free but they specialize in previs and have some nice content for putting together 3D scenes and animating them.

That's pretty cool, thanks. I'll probably have to do that until I can put in more time to learn animation.

And Blender's free, so I can always try that in my free time, though I won't have much.

My 3D program of choice and recommendation is Maxon Cinema 4D.

But DAZ is both free and easier with premade stuff.

Hi Sir (Mr.John Rofrano) DAZ Studio. It's free, it's easy to learn, there is tons of content, and it allows you to manipulate models easily.

1)Is this 3d program can install in same working station with SVP?

I use Carrara Pro for modeling and Animation. I tried Blender but couldn't get my head around the interface. (It's been a couple years since I've tried blender I've heard the front end is improved)
What I like about Carrara is I can model or modify my models in the same program that I animate, as I animate.
There used to be a 30 day free free demo of Carrara 8.
As well a book was sold that had version 6 included. It can be found on amazon for about $20.00 and Daz ( Carrara) seems to honor the license, but that version doesn't qualify for upgrade discounts. It's how I started doing Modeling and animation.
I think Any 3d program is a bear to learn though.
I am trying some modeling in Autocad Fusion 360 but alas it's ransom ware.

Another program you may want to take a look at is Zaxwerks ProAnimator 7, particularly for QUICK, realistic 3D animation of text. You can also batch render text animations with text you store in an Excel file. I use PA to create dozens of text animations quickly. Watch a couple of the "Behind the Scenes" videos with company president Zax Dow, to hear about how they do a LOT of stuff on screen all without having to use keyframing tutorials. It's a little different mind set, but once you get the concept, it's quite easy to create stunning text animations. You can also create and manipulate 3D objects, and give them photorealistic properties. Wow, I sound like a walking advertisement!
