Sony Vegas Pro 14.0 rendering problem
on Jun 12, 2017 at 2:10:40 am

Hello,

I have been having a lot of problems when rending 1080P- 60fps all of a sudden all my rendered video looks horrible- all pixalated and ghosting. Setting are the same- nothing has changed. I have edited around 350 video in the past few years with no problems. I did some research and testing. My youtube videos were really looking bad all of a sudden also.

Solution: I am rendering at the highest bitrate of 240,000,000 which is now taking about 50 minutes - when just last week I could render at 768,000 with no problem. Also, if I render with CUDA that makes my video worse so I am not using CUDA to render.

Now after rendering at 240,000,000 bitrate the finished product shakes between transitions and is choppy in areas- mind you the actual footage is perfect and the preview footage is perfect. If i lower the bitrate the video is blurry and pixelated.

My solution now to fix this is to use handbrake and downsize the file size- after doing so the video is back to perfect.

Please help-

Thank you

WHY IS THIS? Help?

I am using Windows 10 Pro- I have a AMD FX 8370 8 core processor 4.00GHZ with 32 Gigs of Ram

You haven't told use what render format you are using so it's really hard to say what could be going wrong. If the bit rate is too high your computer won't be able to play it back smoothly.

Have you installed any Code Paks (e.g., K-Lite)? These are often the problem with poor rendering quality.

Hello,

Thank you very much for replying. No I have not installed any code paks. I am rendering using MainConcept AVC/AAC (*.mp4, *.avc) as I always do.. it is 60fps and my rendering is changed to 60fps... I have my video rendering quality set at best. These are the same settings I always use, nothing has changed. If I use CUDA that really messes up my render. I have to use CPU for it to work.

Like I said, the finished product is jumpy but after I put it in handbrake it is perfect!

My computer should be able to play the high bitrate- I can play 4K (raw footage) that I have filmed with no problem.

Thank you for any advice in advance.

[Kim Durecki] "I am rendering using MainConcept AVC/AAC (*.mp4, *.avc) "

Try using the Sony AVC encoder and see if it fixes the problem. The MainConcept encoder is extremely old and no one used 60p back in the days that it was created. Perhaps it has a bug that obviously will never be fixed. The Sony AVC encoder is at least controlled by Sony (now MAGIX) and has a better change with modern frame rates.
