If you have GPU acceleration ON, try turning it OFF.

Have you render this setup before?

OK, open the PC and see if it very dusty inside. Fans, fan portals, grids and mesh and any "blankets" of accumulated hairs+dust. Rendering is a big use of PC hardware, this equates with temperature rise. Keep an eye on your Core PC Temp with this: http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

Which reminds me . . . .

Have you knowingly accepted a M$ Update? Check your update history and see what may have been installed with special attention to .NET Framework.

Hi,
No, I haven't accepted anything, and honestly speaking I dont know, in my 8.1 version of windows, updates are automatically done, I guess. And how to check them exactly? Let me try. I will just check and see if I could understand them or not.
Thanks.

Look, the bottom line here is that you say that you've done all this render process before and just now it won't. You got to investigate what may have changed recently.

Have you opened the PC to look and see if there is anything blocking the ventilation?

Hi, thanks.
No, nothing is blocking the ventilation.
Still searching the fix, I have searched some updates for 8.1 version of OS (I am using), but those are optional ones.
No further progress yet.

Look at your Update History in the updater manager. This will show you what updates were downloaded and installed. Looking at what "is" available, your optional comment, is not the same as what "has" been downloaded and installed. And again, has any of the .NET Framework updates been installed. If so note the date it happened on.

Hi there,
Thanks for your kind reply. You are very correct, I have seen .NET location, the vgas while crashing at 20% indicate the message like this: C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft.vc90.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.8387_none_08e793bfa83a89b5\MSVCR90.dll
and I have seen this file in the C drive, I don't know if it is corrupted or what, and what needs to be done with this file, or it needs to be re-installed or what? Also I found no new updates recently installed.

How to deal with this further.

Thanks & Regards Mr Graham Bernard.

Can you see if the .NET Framework is being suggested as an update? Are you capable of determining just which.Net Framework you are currently working with?

Another thought: Have you recently installed new software? I say this because I recently installed some graphics software and it flagged up the need for a newer version of .NET Framework and went ahead and installed it! I discovered this because I interrogated the M$ Updater and saw Updater had indeed installed a new version of .NET.

You're already signed up with and asked the same question on the MAGIX VP Forum. Has that helped?

Thanks for your reply,
Unfortunately they have not yet replied and given any look into the matter, everybody seem to be less interested in Vegas crashing issue. Its very irritating topic though, but Vegas is otherwise a great warrior , sometimes it starts giving its users great shocks as well.

Thanks.

I was rendering a 28 minute video last night. It stopped rendering at 58 percent. I saw this thread last time it happened and I found my computers video card settings had changed so the fan speed was back to default.

I have the RX480 card, and it has software to allow me to control the fan speed on the video card. I had previously had these freezes and I upped the fan speed from the default of 780rpm to over 3000rpm. It worked then. On last night's render, it froze again. I checked the Global Wattman (the name of he software that came with the RX480) and it indeed had gone back to default fan speed. I set it back to manual and upped the fan speed to over 3000 rpm again, rebooted the computer and started my render again. It went thru with flying colors.

I don't know why it reverted back to default settings, and I was really annoyed when I found the render had stopped this morning again. But making the video card run cooler allowed the render to go back to normal. I don't know if this will help you, but I figured I would share it. I also try and do a "spring cleaning" every year and clean out my computer's insides and I haven't done that yet this year. Will have to get on that too ☺

Peter
