I was all excited to get an LG V-20 with manual control over video, but when I try to import video files an error msg says: "corrupted of unknown file type." Is there a work-around for this?

You should post media info on a clip from the phone.

"Media info?" You mean the metadata?

A quick Google search reveals that the LG V20 shoots AVC/H.265 which I don't believe Vegas Pro 13 supports. The LG V20 was release in 2016. Vegas Pro 13 was released in 2014. You can't expect old software to support formats that didn't exist at the time it was created. The workaround is to upgrade to Vegas Pro 14 (which I believe does support H.265), or convert the video to the more common H.264 with a video conversion program.

I mean "media info," there are links all over the place in other threads to the application. Here is another:

You can also download FFMPEG and use FFProbe if you understand the output. If FFPlay will playback the media, then FFMPEG will allow you to convert the media to a Vegas friendly format.

I agree with John. Figuring out some way to convert you media to XAVC-Intra, or Cineform will be about the only way to make h.265 work in Vegas 13. There was a way to hack h.265 into VP13 but it caused other issues.
