Maintaining Layer Information From Vegas to AE?
on Mar 22, 2017 at 1:26:58 am

Keeping this as concise as possible, I have both Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum and After Effects CC 2015, and I'm more used to creating projects with the former rather than the latter (I'm just more comfortable with putting my materials on one timeline instead of having them stacked on top of each other like AE). Maybe this is something I'm not privvy to with Vegas, but can you export a Vegas project in a file that retains all layers (footage, audio, et al) and open it in AE while keeping the layers separate, and which file extensions can make that possible?

The default extensions I have other than VF are .bmp, jpeg., .png, .tiff, .wdp, .mp4, .mpg, .m2t, .m2v, .mpa, .mov, .rm, .m2ts, .avc, .avi and .wmv

I'm also consulting the list of technical specifications for other Vegas products that I don't own, and if there's anything in there that can accomplish what I'm striving for that can't be done with the list above, I'm willing to shell out a little extra money to stay on top of that.

Thanks in advance for your help!
