Blending only isolated colors from the above track
on Feb 24, 2017 at 8:30:00 pm

Hello!
I have a video event in a track which contains some color fx-es. On the above track, same event, no fx-es applied. Just one color isolated, which means everything else is black and white. I want to find a blending mode that ignores the black and white areas and blends only the isolated color. In other words, to add only the isolated color. Is there something like that?

With thanks,
Ellen

Do you mean black and white in the meaning of black = RGB 0/0/0 and white = RGB 255/255/255? Or grey tones?

You could try using Chroma Key to key on the isolated color and then reverse the matte so that it does the opposite (i.e., let only that color through)

Hody, for such effects U use color corrector secondary. This plug assists in selecting a color and changing it. Also there ia a built in keyer that will allow to create alpha masks. Several sessions of the plugin can be used to isolate different hues and colors to create a mat which will arrive at the desired effect. If more info watch this as example it is not a great tutorial and leaves out the view mask feature which helps to refine the matt bit you may get the idea.

Good luck

What Chroma Key fx inverts the mask?
I cannot use CCseccondary because I need to add an original color and my "bellow" event is already color graded and so the CCsec can't add the original color because it' s affected by the previous fx-es.

[Ellen Maurer] "What Chroma Key fx inverts the mask?"
Both the Chroma Key and Color Corrector (Secondary) have the ability to show the mask. You can then place the Mask Generator in the chain after this and get a "real" mask with transparency.

You can create the mask with an original piece of media on a separate track and composite them together.
