Animate Pinch/Punch Video FX

I'm using Vegas Pro 13 and trying to use the Pinch/Punch Video FX.
I'm using Medium Punch as my maximum "pulse", which is at "Amount: 0.500"

To try to ease into the 0.500 value, I have the four frames before the max set at 0.100, 0.200, 0.300, 0.400. Then, I let the max pulse hold for 6 frames before backing off in reverse order.
It looks better than the 0 to 0.500 did, but it still looks a little rough.
Here are images showing my timeline and some Effect Windows: http://imgur.com/a/pc4Fs

Is there a way I can have Vegas automatically animate that effect to make it smoother?

Did you try to right click a keyframe and set it to "smooth"?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by selecting a keyframe.
I see that I can set keyframes in the Pan/Crop tab of the Video Event FX window, but I only see that applying to a "zoom" effect.

I'm also not sure what you mean by "set it to 'smooth'". Could you elaborate?

Thank you!

Sure, later. Right now I'm far away from my computer, I'll try to help better when I get back ;)

Hi,

So here I am ;)

Apply Punch FX to your clip (event).
Then when you open FX properties, click on the animate button on bottom left:

Then you'll see a timeline, here you can add/remove/move/modify keyframes.
When you right-click a keyfram, you can change the interpolation method between them.
I guess you are looking for the "smooth", but you can try the others too.
By default the interpolation is linear.

I hope I could help

Kind regards

Oh, I forgot to mention, that instead of an event, you can apply the FX to the track itself.
Animating works similar in this case...
