Hello everyone, I hope you are all feeling great!

Basically I want to create a 16:9 video using 4:3 clips. To fill the black bars on the sides without stretching the picture, I decided to create a zoomed in, blurred background using the clips I have and place the same clips with their original size/aspect ration on top of it. So it should look something like this: http://i.imgur.com/PP6ngz7.jpg

When I apply the Gaussian blur on the background event, everything looks fine. However, when I try to place an event on top of it, the blurred background starts to act weirdly (like it displays random frames and sometimes freezes on couple of frames). And it only happens when there is an even on top of it. When I remove the upper event, to goes back to normal.

Below short samples that show what I mean:
- Background only: https://goo.gl/ovv75b
- Event on top of background: https://goo.gl/Km2woZ

I can't seem to find the source of the problem and I hope someone has an answer :)

Sounds like that is a GPU related issue. Try disabling the GPU and then see if it still happens.

Steve's probably right about the GPU. I've done something similar except rather than using blur, I've used the levels FX and simply moved the black levels up to around 50%. Looks roughly the same and renders a lot faster.

He is. I disabled GPU acceleration and it works now.
Also thanks for sharing your experience.
