Dumb question, but following autoplaying by your cursor.

I forget but I seem to recall there being a way for when you place your cursor and the little bar anywhere in the project it would play right where you placed it, makes it alot easier to view where you want. Is this still around or am I thinking of Sound Forge?

Under Preferences > General Preferences > Check "Make Spacebar and F12 Play/Pause instead of Play/Stop.

See if that is what you are looking for.

Sorry, that's not what I mean, when Im telling the seek bar on the timeline where in the movie to go by just clicking on the project, I want it to autoplay. :D

Not sure if this is what you want either, but if I want to go anywhere on the timeline and continue playing, here's what I do. First scroll down so that the mouse pointer is below the last track. Then hit the space bar to start playing. Now, you can simply move the mouse pointer and left-click at the position on the timeline you want to continue playing from. You can move back and forth and go anywhere so long as the mouse pointer remains below the last track and it will continue playing.

Ok here's an easier way to explain, I bought Sound forge as well, if you open sound forge and click anywhere in the timeline it will just keep playing. I cant get Vegas to do that, I have to manually click the play button when I move somewhere. ;)

Just follow the directions exactly in my previous post. If the mouse pointer is NOT below the bottom track, it will not work. If it is on a track, it will select the underlying track event, and you must then hit play again. It's kind of a pain sometimes always being beneath the bottom track, but it does work. I know of no other way.

Wayne's method will also work by placing the mouse pointer above the top track, in the area that loop regions and markers appear, although if you are pointing in a loop region or lined up with a marker (pointer turns to a hand) then it will not work, has to be in the blank area.

George,
Thanks so much for the info about use of the blank space above the top tracks. That's a lot easier unless you have a lot of markers. Seems as if I learn something everyday.
