I'm using Pro 12 and attempting to use the PTT to edit up some text because it allows me to change the colour of individual letters.
Next all I want to do is use the 'Fly-in' preset from collections.
When I click on the collections button I get the menu and by single clicking on 'Fly-in' it shows me what the preset looks like in the box at the bottom with the words 'The brown fox'
I have seemingly tried every possible way to get this preset to work with my text but nothing is working.
If I try to drag the preset to the animation area it doesn't work and if I double click the preset it animates the preset preview words 'The brown fox' and then if I scroll the timeline bar until the words appear then enter text editing mode I thought i could simply replace with my text... but when I delete the first 'T' from 'The brown fox' half the preset animation deletes because the sequence is anchored on the first letter.
The trick is to not delete the existing text but to replace it. Highlight the text from the preset and then start typing over it. The effects are attached to the first letter so you must be careful to never delete the first letter. Always highlight and type over it so that the effects get re-assigned to the new letters you are typing.
