Wanted: pro bono logo design for dog rescue group
on Jan 27, 2007 at 7:22:35 pm

I am developing a website for a new Sheltie rescue organization in Alberta and am looking for someone to design a series of cartoon-like Shelties to add visual interest throughout the site.

This would be a great opportunity for anyone looking to add to their portfolio or just to do a good deed!

A year ago I designed a site for Chihuahua rescue(http://www.ccrt.net) and was the beneficiary of a wonderful collection of little Chihuahuas, donated by a subscriber to this forum.

Fingers are crossed that I'll be equally lucky this time!
Regards
Kathie in Ontario Canada

I have several students who are interested in doing a design for you. Could I get a little more info (colors, size, etc)?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve
Thanks so much for your interest. The colour scheme for the site is going to be similar to what is at http://www.kma-web.com/ASR/index4.htm

A year ago I designed a website for a Chihuahua rescue group and am very keen on the cartoon-like images that another volunteer produced for that purpose. You can see those sprinkled throughout http://www.ccrt.net

I found a sheltie image that I really like on an Australian pet store site but so far I've been unable to get their permission to use the image. I "borrowed" it for a mockup which you can see at http://www.kma-web.com/ASR/index5.htm. Maybe that, plus the little Chihuahuas on CCRT's site, will give you an idea of the kind of thing I'm hoping for.

Shelties come in quite a few colours. Your students can see some examples of the real thing at http://www.ripleyhillshelties.com/sheltie_colors.htm

Ideally I would like a variety of poses, in a format suitable for use and possible modification in Macromedia Fireworks.

Please let me know if you require any further information. I am keen to see what your students come up with! Can you give me an idea of when I might expect to see some of their creations?

Regards,
Kathie

Hi again
Since Friday there's been a colour change to this website. The final (I promise!) colour scheme can now be seen at http://www3.telus.net/AlbertaSheltieRescue/.

We'll try to get started on this early next week. Is there a direct email I can send the drafts too?

Thanks!

Steve

G'Day Tony (from Downunder)
I am the president of Paws 'n' Hooves Animal Rescue in Sydney Australia.
We are also in the process of considering changing our logo to a more personalised one.
(Currently, we are using a fairly "common" clip art image of two dogs that we found on the net.)
Do you think that some of your students may like to have a look at one for us as well ?
Our colour scheme is basically green and yellow and we would like a logo with a similar "flavour" to what we are using but we would like to include a cat in the picture as well.
If you can advise your email address, I will email a file of our existing logo or you may be able to find it using this link ?

I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
