WANTED: Production Manager for Narrative Feature
on Mar 15, 2009 at 2:28:47 pm

We are looking for an enthusiastic production manager and production management assistant for our, yet to be named and unveiled, narrative feature film.

Production is expected to commence April 2009 and will continue on until September 2009, working at an average rate of five days per month (hopefully).

Responsibilities will include:

Location management
Casting management
Contract negotiations
On set photography
Script and continuity supervision
Post-Production support

Needless to say: you must be ambitious, organized, patient, and a film lover.

Plus: ability and enthusiasm is valued somewhat more than experience. Though, of course, having all three couldn’t hurt!

About us: we recently completed the production of our first feature film, entitled AT THE FOOT OF A TREE, a film that was chosen as one of the projects to feature in the IFP Narrative Lab 2008. We are now in the process of submitting to film festivals.

Also, to get more of an idea about our filmmaking values, without going into too much detail at this point, you might like to know the kind of contemporary films we hold in high regard. If you happen to be interested, we very much love: the films of David Lynch, Lars Von Trier, Shane Meadows, Vincent Gallo, Gus Van Sant, Lynne Ramsay, Jane Campion, and many more. We’re not sure how much use such a list is to you but we hope it’s better than nothing!

The film will be shot in and around New Jersey (in the countryside and the areas alongside the Appalachian) and, therefore, it would be extremely useful if you had access to a vehicle.

We would like to note that this is an extremely low cost production and is being made out of a love and desire to initiate a long-term career as a filmmaker. Considering this, we are looking for someone who is thinking along the same lines and so will not expect much more than initial expense coverage in addition to the bonus of having a negotiated percent of ownership and eventual sales. Yes: we are open negotiations!

Now, all we need from you is an email explaining why you would like to work on this production, what experience you will bring with you (we don’t expect you to have vast sums of experience or even any outside of the film class room!), and the kinds of film you admire and enjoy. With this, we will gladly provide you with more information.

Please email us at:

Thank you for your consideration!
