This is my first post here, checked about the forum and have come up blank. I bow to the communities sage wisdom. Here is the issue:
We receive content from many post houses, some have an issue when they hit our automated workflow (auto QC/audio legaliser). We have backtracked and the common factor seems to be compressing through Episode, specifically uncompressed Quicktimes to Mpeg2.
When creating an MPEG2 programe stream 720x576 50i through Episode, MediaInfo shows a 'Delay relative to video: -40ms ' in the output file. This is resulting in a video shift of a frame when processed through Rhozet (Harmonic) Carbon Coder.
Having spoken with editors at the various sources it appears they are using a variety of suits to export a master (Avid, Flame etc) and then go through various versions of Episode, but all have this -40ms delay.
Despite my best efforts I've been unable to rectify the issue and was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue in their travels?
