How I tell Episode to stop encoding if the destination drive is not working

This issue stems from OSX, but I am transcoding .cine raw files to ProRes using Episode (on set).

I have a gaggle of hard drives that I need to swap in and out in order to keep everything moving along.

During that swap process, it seems that sometimes, OSX puts a lock on the incoming hard drive permissions and I can't write to it.

Dismoutning and remounting the drives fixes it.

The problem is that Episode doesn't check the destination until it needs to transfer the file from cache to the destination drive.

This means, if I have a 40 min encode, I don't know it's going to fail until that 40mins passes and I get a failing grade from Episode.

What can I do to have Episode check the destination first so that I don't lose precious on set transcode time?

Jeremy
