It's been a long time I (known as Diony or other silly nicknames) part with the pI community because I have changed my focus to Unity primarily for its real-time 3D particle system which is very reminiscent of pI. I know there are lots of plagiarism in the creative industry to various degree. I would let go of a smart plagiarism (which lifts the quality of the source materials to an impressive new level) instead of a poor one.
So recently in the Unity asset store, there is a package of particle effects with sound effect for sale. Surprise, surprise, the package includes textures I can easily identify to be my old submission for the pI public emitter library. These include the animated icicle, leaf (petal) and feather. I believe other textures like the animated flame and smoke come straight from the pI emitter library as well. You can open its real-time web player demo if your browser has the Unity plugin installed. Or just expand the "package contents" in the asset store, click the raster file name under the "textures" folder for downsized preview.
I don't know what the license of the pI public emitters is, but a particle effect package which sells for $30 isn't cheap in the general pricing of similar Unity assets. I simply feel not well with this especially because its effects are mediocre at best.
