keeping emitter aligned

I hope I can explain this right. There is a truck commercial where an asteriod comes down and hits right by the truck and the truck comes thru with no damage. In the commercial the camera moves and shakes. Can this be done without leaving trails in PI? Meaning can I create a scene where the camera moves but have PI not leave unwanted trails as I try to keep the emitter alighned on screen? EXAMPLE: I pan across sceen and there is a fire in a window and I want the particles to rise but not be effected by the camera movement..

You can do this by using the Layer Offset, where you pick a point in your video that moves with the camera, animate the Offset point to follow that throughout the clip (or track it in a compositng program, and import that data)

Alan has a post with some examples here.
