Best way to use PI 3.0

I have Motion 2 combustion 3 and AE 6.5 . I work in OS X Panther and Tiger
I have been using you particles in C3 but it is very slow.
I am Looking for the most logical way to work with your particles
and to have access to your updated Library of new particles.
Like your stand alone idea and am considering it.

Does PI 3.0 offer a 3D environment I noticed that you have a demo with
a star that goes around the animated figure ?

Can I do this / use this with After Effect 6.5 or Motion
and create a 3D motion around a object?

What would be the best way to go........

pI3 is still a 2D program. The example you mentioned is really just a trick of having two copies of the same emitter on two layers, hiding particles on the upper layer, and making the ones on the lower layer visible. There's a tutorial about it here:
http://www.wondertouch.com/tutorials/around_01/around.htm

It's really just a masking trick, so you should be able to do it in any program that has multiple layers and mask/matte tools.

Many of the version 3 emitters are now available for Combustion by the way, though since your problem is with the speed of C3, that may not factor in to your decisions.

Wondertouch also offers emitters for Motion.

Also, AE and pIllusion work very well together, easily exchanging positition data.
