use one slider control to change different layers opacity that have different values
on Dec 17, 2014 at 10:42:14 pm

I am sorry if this has been resolve in a different post, but I couldnt find a solution for ti.

I have 3 layers with diffrerent opacity values 90, 70, 50

what i want to do is to link them all to a single slider but i dont what that slider to change the values by the same amount. I want it to change them by percentage.
I mean, if I have my slider control at 100, those layers will remain their opacity as i mention before, but if I change the slider to 50 I want the opacity value to change to something like this: 45, 35, 25.

I have been trying to achieve this but my head hurst so bad right now.

is there a way to achieve this?

any help will be very appreciated.

Just set each layer's opacity to its maximum value (90,70,50) and then connect opacity to the slider (on a layer named "control" in this example) by adding an expression like this:

s = thisComp.layer("control").effect("Slider Control")("Slider");
linear(s,0,100,0,value)
