I have a character animation and he is holding a lantern in his hand. The lantern position is linked to the hand position. I want to swing the lantern(with a little ease) according to the speed of the hand position by the x axis. I have no clue how to do this. I tried to wiggle it with a slider but the result is not what I want.
Any suggestions for an expression?
You might be able to fake something that looks good enough, but it really depends on what the motion of the arm is. To get it right, it's probably a fairly complex simulation. I would guess it's more likely that you're after acceleration than velocity, and acceleration can be tricky to calculate in expressions. Plus, you have to account for the residual effect of acceleration that occurred previously. Do-able but complex I suspect.
