Keep keyframes intact, but add value to x + Y script
on Apr 29, 2014 at 7:01:47 pm

I'm working on a project where we animate something, and then to fake the cast shadow we duplicate the comp, tint to black, blur, and offset the x and y by +17.

What is the format to script it so that it looks at the keyframes and adds that 17 to each value automatically?

If you just want to keep the shadow a fixed distance from the subject layer, a position expression like this should work:

thisComp.layer("subject layer").transform.position + [17,17];

If you actually need to manipulate the keyframe values for some reason, you could do that with a script.

Whoops spoke too soon.

Yes I actually just need to manipulate the values of the keyframes.

I think I figured it out...

I just used:

value + [17,17];

that seems to work.
