using .toComp() in a script
on May 30, 2013 at 4:50:29 pm

Hi everybody :)
I am trying to move some path points to the position af a layer with some very basic scripting, and I have gotten so far as to get the relative position of the target layer, but I need to know where its absolute position in the comp is.

I was wondering if it is possible somehow to use .toComp() in a script? I cannot seem to find it on the web or in the reference. If it's not possible, is there a snippet somewehere that calculates that sort of thing?

Any pointers would be very mych appreciated :)

Scripting doesn't have access to the layer space transforms. One thing you can do is have your script create a temporary expression to do the transform, harvest the result, then remove the expression.
