Shape Trim Path matching Line Rotation?
on May 29, 2013 at 9:08:50 pm

How would I get the 0-360° rotation of a line to match the 0-100% trim path operation on a circle shape?

So that the edge of the circle always lines up with the tip of the line.

It should just be some form of this:

tp = thisComp.layer("Shape Layer 1").content("Ellipse 1").content("Trim Paths 1").end;
linear(tp,0,100,0,360)

Depending on how you have it set up might need to add the result to (or subtract it from) some offset angle.

I see... so it's like a range mapper! Cool.

If I needed to reverse the process (I forgot I had the rotation already pickwhipped to a null), would it look like:

tp = *pickwhip rotation*
linear(tp,0,360,0,100)

That sounds right (again, depending on how you have it set up).
