time remapping
on Aug 26, 2011 at 11:13:23 pm

Hello,
I have a piece that moving gears correspond to text that begins to scroll by a persons eyes. the gears and the type increase in speed till a very fast, almost blur occurs. this was done by hand and was very time consuming. i have some audio that loops and i would like to speed it up to match the visuals. is there a quick expressions i can use with time remapping to have the audio start at normal time and exponentially increase in speed?
my friend thought that using a variable and then doubling the variable over a certain time might work but i have no idea how to write that.
thanks
will

Try this time remapping expression:

fDecay = -25;
fDecay*(1-1/Math.exp((time-inPoint)/fDecay))

Make fDecay more negative (e.g. -50) to get to accelerate more slowly, less negative (e.g. -10 to go faster).

Dan
