a point of a line being the child of a moving object?

I'm not sure how to explain this properly so I'm going to use the help of a horribly crafted video :) Please watch the video below before reading my question!

in reference to that video and the GREEN LINE…

I would like to keep pointA stationary (like it is currently) while pointB moves directly on top of the purple dot at all times. (Kind of like if pointB was a child of the purple dot…if that makes any sense)

thanks in advance!

Assuming that you're talking about tying the Ending Point of a Beam Effect to the center of a layer named "Layer B", it would be like this:

L = thisComp.layer("Layer B");
L.toWorld(L.anchorPoint)

Oh wow, I forgot about the beam effect and its properties. Thank you greatly for the tip and the expression.
