Convert Audio to Keyframes
on Jun 21, 2011 at 4:47:16 pm

Hi Everyone. I have converted my audio to keyframes to create a graphic equalizer (I followed a tutorial on YouTube). It looks great, and is almost exactly as I want, but the motion on the equalizer is backwards (the levels get lower when the voice talks, and rests higher when there is no sound). I noticed that when the null with the sliders is created with the audio keys, the values go from 0 into the minus values. Those slider values are controlling a linear wipe to grow/shrink the level of the equalizer.

Is there an easy way to reverse those slider levels to be positive instead of negative? Or a better way to create an EQ?

(btw, I tried the generate audio spectrum/waveform tools, they are not what I'm looking for.

thanks!

I've never seen Convert Audio to Keyframes generate negative numbers. It's hard to tell exactly what to do without seeing your expression, but when you bring the slider value in, you can just flip the sign like this:

slider = -thisComp.layer("Audio Amplitude").effect("Both Channels")("Slider");
