I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a rackmount power strip with Isolation transformers? Also, voltage regulation is a plus.

Thanks,
Brent

Here in Florida, you have to be nuts to work without surge supressors. I use big expensive APC UPS units on EVERYTHING, because of the power hits - especially in the summertime. I have seen countless units - big and small, go up in smoke. There is no such thing as a "good value" surge supressor, when you take a lightning hit, and you lose the media on your drives. All of sudden - $500 - $600 for your entire system looks REAL CHEAP !

Bob,

Thanks for your reply. I want to point out that I'm not looking for "cheap." I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good rackmount unit.

Thanks again,
Brent

I use APC Smart UPS 1500RM 2U. About $600

IF you don't need the UPS, any of the Middle Atlantic PD series, or Furman series work just fine for surge supression. And if you can't afford these, a cheapie Home Depot strip with some sort of spike protector is much better than straight into the wall.

I've seen the cheapies work on a tranformer that blew - they saved the equipment.

I used a SurgeX product in combination with a APS unit.
