I'm having flickering issues with what seems to be all shots where the camera looks down on my scene and travels laterally. More specifically, my scene shows a board game and the cam is looking down at it directly from the top (parallel to the board) and traveling across it. As soon as i break the angle, the flickering stops. I'm using 3ds max 2009 and i'm rendering with vray. I actually faced the same problem in after effects once. I had a traveling camera from left to right and multiple 3d layers parallel to its path. I wasn't able to resolve it. I'm almost sure this is the same problem. Movement parallel to the camera plane flickers. I tried, rendering to fields and applying directional blur in post. Any suggestions are more than welcome.
Apply the 'Stop motion Blur' plug-in (FCP has this and I believe all other editing NLS do to.) Try the following settings:
Time lapse - 1
Steps - 1
Initial opacity (52) flexible quality
Decay opacity - 0
Blend operator - add
