Program Timing in 720p59.94

I'm migrating to HD 720p59.94 from SD. Since TC at 59.94 is non-drop frame how is program timing affected? For example, with SD 29.97 non-drop frame TC a 60 minute program is actually 60 minutes 3.6 seconds in real time. With drop frame TC it is exactly 60 minutes.

My question is what is the actual running time (real time)of an hour program edited at 720p59.94?

[Paul Koenig] "Since TC at 59.94 is non-drop frame how is program timing affected?"

I'm surprised that it's incapable of doing drop-frame. You'd think they would have figured that one out since drop frame's so convenient in NTSC.

Do you have an editor capable of making drop-frame timelines and creating slugs of black or something? If so, you can figure it out yourself. You can make a 1-minute slug, a 2-minute slug, a 27:30:00 slug, etc. Then paste them into an NDF timeline for reference.

I realize it's not very elegant, but it would work...

Thanks for the idea, Dave. It may not be "elegant" but it should show me exactly what the heck is going on. I'm going to post this on the FCP Forum to see if anymore thoughts pop up. Thanks again.
