Documentary b-roll footage for PAL/ NTSC: shoot in 1080/24p?

I'm planning a small library b-roll footage for use in broadcast documentary. Would you good folks please give me your thoughts as to the best format to shoot on?

Let me background the situation first...

I am renting a Panasonic HVX 200 to run it though it's paces as a New Years break project.

The idea is to use the opportunity to start building up a little library of local b-roll for Royalty-free usage.

It's a slightly tricky proposal because I deal with productions from all over, hence the need to shoot with the both the NTSC and PAL markets in mind.

I'm thinking of going with 1080/24p. It seems it can be converted to either PAL or NTSC fairly easily, and is perhaps suitably pretty for documentary b-roll. Is this really the best, most broadly usable format? Would 60i be the way to go?

Your thoughts and suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

I would be for 1080 or 720p at 24fps. Works great for downconversion to NTSC - just add pulldown. Do a small speedup to 25fps for PAL and you're good to go as well.
