Media server and storage

OK guys I am needing some means to store my stuff. I have a lot of stuff. I need this storage to also be a server to render to and digitize to etc. Any ideas that aren't gonna cost more than I can convince an unknowledgable person to purchase for me?

Thank you

Charlie

Yipes, Charlie....

That's a tall order without knowing what you're shooting, how much you shoot... or what you PLAN to shoot. Are you thinking hi-def? How much old stuff do you need to access at a moment's notice? How may TB of storage did you have in mind?

A guy who REALLY seems to be well-versed in this kind of stuff is one of the moderators here on the COW, a gent by the name of Walter Biscardi in Atlanta. Ever watch Good Eats on the Food Network? He's one of the show's editors, specializing in its HD version. He hangs out on the Final Cut Pro forum -- which you probably don't use -- but he really seems to know how to put a useful edit suite together.

Here's an email address: walter@biscardicreative.com
