Broadcast dub for Russia
on Jul 13, 2006 at 6:59:18 pm

Hello,

I need to make a VHS dub for Russia, and I am getting information that the dub should be SECAM,
and some saying that it should be MESECAM.

Is there a big difference? Is one better suited than the other?

thanks!

Look HERE:

And HERE:

They offer further confusion.

Best to check with whom you are dealing.

[Matte] "Best to check with whom you are dealing."

Amen! You want to know for sure what the format is? Don't be shy... ASK!

You can always put the question this way: "I want to make sure I get this right, and from what I understand, you need SECAM. Please tell me if my information is in correct."

By doing so, you show your concern for the end user... always a good thing.

I should clarify, this is not technically a 'broadcast dub', this a dub from MiniDV to VHS for
Mr. Everyday Citizen and his wife who are visiting relatives in Russia.

We did the dub in MESECAM, as we have an international VHS deck, and we selected "U.S.S.R."
region and MESECAM was it's default.

From what I understand, the only difference is in the audio, so I'll hope for the best!
