Hi there

Me again! I have a JVC GY-DV500 camera that is plugged into a NewTek SX85 via an s-video cable of 250ft. My questions are as follows:-
is their a maximum length that you can use an s-video cable?
should I be using any type of signal booster?
I need to connect other cameras of simular length is there a wireless solution that I should rather look at?

The s-video cable I am using is the Monster Super Video.

Not sure what the answer would be to the wireless part, but one of the future cameras would be a roaming camera.

Thanks

Tony

Either this question is so basic that nobody is brave enough to give a diplomatic answer,
OR
It is just so technical that there is nobody to answer it,
OR
I posted it in the wrong forum!

250 feet is a really long run for Svideo. Your likely to run into issues with the color and brightness. Use composite.

Signal strength isn't the issue, but keeping things synchronized over such a long run is. composite will slightly lower quality, but should work fine. use decent cable. If you have to have a really long run somewhere, get a proc amp.
