Any documentary editors?... transcription question

Not really broadcast related, but if any of you are documentary editors...

I was wondering if any software existed in the world, where you can input a sound file (audio from my interviews from my documentary) and get a transcription output. I know software exists where you can speak to your computer and get transcription, but I haven't been able to come across what I'm looking for.

If you know anything --- thank you,

mike.

Voice recognition isn't really up to it yet for using the way you describe. The stopgaps to date have been:

Hire a live transcriptionist. They can even work over a phone line.

Use Dragon Systems Naturally Speaking for P.C., or IListen for mac, put on a really good headset mic. Train the system to your voice, then you repeat out loud every word said off the original tapes into the computer, which transcribe's your re-stating of the words.
Cost-effective but not much fun.

Transcription Services still are the best way to transcribe video and film. Here is a good review comparing Transcription Services and the very best in voice recognition software. However, Google video are making some leaps and bounds, such as the transcription of the Obama Speeches. Though these are crystal clear , one person talking, no back ground noise situations - so even the best systems are not versatile enough yet for most uses. This said, it is becoming essential that video and film going on the net is posted with a video transcription, The beeps and whistles coming out of google labs is indicating that Google Search video through analyses of the attached video transcription .... no attached transcript to the video or film no search , and thus no google ranking....
