Is this local or regional?
Most TV stations will accept BetaSP.
Some have even accepted DVD but most
do not want a DV tape.
Just watch your levels (Audio & Video) in post.
I have shot many spots with the DVX-100
and they looked great on TV.

If you're planning on doing any fancy effects work -- especially chroma keying -- you'll probably want to avoid DV. But if all you're going to do is cuts and dissolves, add a few graphics, you can more than likely get away with it.

Know that if you indeed shoot 24P and you're resolved to do effects work , you'll want to remove the 3:2 pulldown before you begin editing a rough cut. It's either that or work at 59.94FPS in the effects software of your choice. Even then, you may not be totally satisfied with the result if you have precisely-timed motion across cuts because of field issues.

I had no idea you were in a PAL country, you should have said so!

Ignore the mention of pulldown. It doesn't exist in PAL. Usually film shot at 24FPS is transferred at 25FPS in PAL, making both picture and sound a bit faster. But you want to shoot on videotape.

If you still want that no-fields sort of film motion, I STRONGLY suggest that you shoot at 25P. Do not shoot at 24P. Leave 24P for the film makers. Your life will be much easier, especially if you want to do any effects work. And it will still have that not-quite-smooth-motion of film.

If you don't do effects work, you usually don't have to remove the pulldown.

I don't know how to remove pulldown using Avid express. I use Final Cut Pro.

"Offline" and "Online" are nonsense terms when you shoot with DV.
