I'm not sure if this is the best forum to post this question, but here goes. We are a broadcaster and for years we have been shooting interlaced video. With so much content both coming from alt sources and needing to be posted on the web I'm looking at switching to shooting progressive. Our Sony PMW-500 cameras will do 1080p30. Are there other benefits to shooting at this rate as opposed to 1080i60? Are there minuses to shooting in 1080p?

i60 has more temporal resolution. 60 moving fields compared to p30 which is 30 moving frames. i60 might have an advantage in sports.
Given people like the low temporal motion of film which is p24 the p30 look should be fine.
