Looking to compress / export a low res 30 minute AVCHD file

I shot a half hour interview for a client today and he wants to transcribe it. When I export out the entire half hour at full HD it's about 30 gigs. Too big, so I am looking for a fast way to export the file for the client. I'd like to get it under 3 gigs, low res/small file is more than fine.

I am cutting on FCP 7 and do not use Compressor, rather the FCP feature that exports for you. It's an AVCHD file.

Thanks for any tips!

Could you give him just the audio? I mean I'm assuming he wants the video as well since that's a pretty obvious question but...I would open up Compressor, bring your file in and use an iPod preset.

We do this all the time....I encode mp4 at 320 x 180 at around 200kbps and 48k mono ACC audio. This nets a very useable encode that is very small, can have a timecode window and sounds great.

This does not have to be super great quality...it has to be small, easily uploaded/downloaded, and have decent audio with a picture!
