Hi everyone,

I need some advice on transcoding. I have about 60 some odd files in an h264 format that I need to transcode to Preres 4444. I am trying to do this on a Mac 10.6.8. with an 17 2.66Ghz processor but adobe media encoder continually crashes when i do it. I have been trying to do it with compressor but I've never done this many files at once on compressor...is there a way to import a bunch of files at once and without having to drag settings and destinations onto each of them individually just tell compressor once what to do to all the jobs in the batch window? If I have to do them one at a time I'm going to lose my mind.

side note: What version of Adobe Media Encoder are you using that crashes? That should be addressed as well.

Probably the easiest thing to do, would be to build the preset, save it as a droplet (small icon that looks like a down arrow/clip in the upper left of the settings window.)

Then just drop the 60 files onto the droplet.

Also, why ProRes4444? You won't get any 'better' quality than ProRes out of it.
