I have a client who is sitting on terabytes of old multibitrate Real Video files. Does anybody know of a way to convert these into a more flexible format?

Best case solution would be linux and scriptable so it could incorporate it into their current ffMpeg workflow.

Thanks in advance

That nobody has responded for days may show you what a disaster Real is as a codec (IMHO). There's not much in the way of compression utilities that can handle it as a source.

I've never used this but it might be worth a test if they have a free demo

Maybe iffmpeg can handle it.

As I understand it, on current systems, the FFMpeg build handles real.
