I've been trying to deinterlace source material that's NTSC 720x480 29,97fps .M2TS
First I've converted it to interlaced prores - .movs with Media Encoder CS5.
Now I have a bunch of files and I'm not able to deinterlace them with compressor.
I think I've tried all the settings known to man (read: myself), though I'm sure I'm missing something.
I've made about 22 test versions and they all come out interlaced.
I've toggled these, on and off:
Frame controls: On
Resize filter: Best
Output fields: Progressive
Adaptive Details : checked
Rate Conversion: high
Output codecs: Prores 422 & Animation
The animation has alot of panning and scanning, it's from a videogame.
Any advice greatly appreciated on how to get the best possible deinterlacing out of this.
When you put the Pro Res file you created into Compressor and select in, in A/V Attributes what does it say in Native Field Dominance?
I don't understand why you'd encode the MTS to ProRes in Adobe Media Encoder and then encode it to ProRes again. Try deinterlacing when you do the first encode in Adobe Media Encoder.
