I'm using Compressor 3.5.2 to convert my Final Cut Pro sequence to Apple ProRes HQ to get it ready to send out of house for color correction. The time line source footage is both XDCam HD (1440x1080) and XDCam EX (1920x1080).
I know I could just use the default setting in Compressor for Apple ProRes 422 HQ without adjusting any setting in the Inspector and my new Pro Res time line would play back fine....the settings would be based off the source resolution. But, is there any advantages to changing the frame size of the XDCam files to 1920x1090 and the pixel aspect ratio to square? I ask because it would seem that my new ProRes time line contain all 1920x1080 clips and therefore wouldn't need to adjust the 1440 material on the fly, nor would I have to render on output.
I appreciate any thoughts on this.
