Compressor is converting to stereo mono! Why?
on Jun 29, 2010 at 5:20:39 pm

I'm converting my xdcam ex footage to xdcam HD, this is the codec my company uses and we are too broke to buy three xdcams, so we shoot with 1 xdcam and 2 ex cams. Leaving the converting up to the editor.

I'm using compressor to do so. The problem is that my audio which was originally recorded with 2 mics in 2 mono tracks onto the ex camera gets converted to stereo mono when I use compressor. Mpeg Streamclip does the same thing except even worse, I lose timecode!

My question is, what settings do I use under compressor that will keep my audio the same and just convert video? I get up to 6 hrs of footage at a time so it's something I need to set up to cook overnight.

Audio settings:

Format: Linear PCM

Channels: Stereo (L R)

Rate: 48.000 kHz

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
