Apple TV in quicktime, maintaining aspect ratio
on May 10, 2010 at 2:57:51 pm

I have a 720 x 480 anamorphic video straight from after effects. It shows the frame size as 720x480, which is what I need. In the past, I've simply loaded the video in quicktime, selected apple TV, and I've gotten an m4v that's still 720x480. It can then play in iTunes along with a list of other videos that are produced the exact same way with the exact same dimensions.

Now, when I follow that same process, it gives me 872x480. I've tried compressor and mpeg streamclip, with similar results. I've tried preserving aspect ratio and not preserving aspect ratio. It gave me various dimensions, none of which were 720 x 480.

What's going on? How can I get an m4v in my exact dimensions?

I recently upgraded to snow leopard. Don't know if that's a factor.
