blurry motion on TV

Hello,

I have a project that when burned to DVD and watched on a HDTV through a DVD player, any motion in the actors, i.e., heads turning, leaning forward, etc., blurs for a second before clearing up...

When I watch this file on a TV monitor sourced form my computer, I do not see this blur.

The project is HD, 30fps, Pro-res. I'm using Compressor to turn it into a MPEG-2 before burning it in DVD Pro, standard def.

As far as I can tell, I have everything set to best in Compressor, and my deinterlace option is set to "best" too.

Can anyone offer advice?

Was the source progressive or interlaced? 720p, 1080i or 1080p?

The source is 1080i.

In Compressor I selected my output field to be progressive under the Frame Control tab.

Some more info. -

I'm using a Mac 10.6.2
FCP 7.0.1
If the file looks great on my computer monitor and TV monitor hooked up to my computer, the problem is happening in Compressor or DVD Pro, right? Can I be confident in delivering just the Quicktime file, even though it WILL be put to TV? (In that case not by me)

I'm also using Magic Bullet Looks to color correct, and I'm heavy on the correction tools.... I've applied Looks to each shot individually, exported the timeline, imported it back into FCP to consolidate 80 clips into 1, then applied more color correction. Can all these filters affect the file?

Even eye movement by my actors is causing a blur/pixelation on the DVD.

Help me!!!!

Sounds to me like you've reversed the field order?

If that's the case, in compressor, under Frame Controls, should I leave the output fields as "same as source"?

Does deinterlacing the clip in FCP make it progressive?

Thanks for your input... I really appreciate it. This has been driving me nuts.

Don't deinterlace in FCP. Do it in compressor.
