Dvcam video 16:9 full Height Anam. with 4:3 safe area
on Jun 10, 2009 at 12:49:01 pm

Hi everyone,

I've a issue that i need to be sure before give it back to my boss.
I've done a commercial 720x576 (1.094pixel ratio) with an audio track.
now I've to send it to a channel and they asked it as

DVCAM VIDEO TAPE SUPPLIED WITH DVCAM VIDEO CONTENT.
ASPECT RATIO 16:9 FULL HEIGHT ANAMORPHIC WITH 4:3 SAFE AREA
AUDIO STEREO (2 CHANNEL LEFT AND RIGHT)

well I don't wanna get lost in something maybe easy but need someone to confir how to do it properly.

1) dvcam video content = is quick time - dv pal? (I'M USING PREMIERE CS4)
2) shall I change the aspect ratio of the project or just when I endcoding it? or maybe each clip?! I suppose the project should be 4:3 with the clip 16:9?!!
3)audio= each audio track is it already with 2 channel?! r shall i split it in other 2?!

please somebody answer as soon as possible please!!!
Love you all, always save my work when reading this forum!!
Sara

I'd post this in the Premiere forum for the correct workflow but in answer to your questions:

1. DVCAM is DVCAM not Quicktime (as it's tape) but it can be digitised or created or transcoded to using the Quicktime DV PAL Codec.

2. If the footage is 16:9 then your project should be 16:9 and so should the clips (1024x576) - when played back to DVCAM tape they'll be 720x576 FH anamorphic

3. The clips are stereo which is 2 channels (left and right), that's all they are saying.
