AE export to swf

Howdy,
I used a small qt animation created with AE in my site; http://www.omproductions.net and it looked good and played nicely, even though it was almost 40 mb. So I remade the animation in AE and exported as a swf at 3.1mb. This also looks good but is slow to load and I don't know how to make it work. AE doesn't have many settings for swf. I also use FCP 5.

All suggestions appreciated.
John

It loaded right up when I went to the page. Pretty much immediately in fact. AE isn't a great tool to export to flash. I've only used it once and could never get the file to look right.

There are a ton of modest priced apps that will convert from quicktime to .flv and .swf files. Just do a search on google. You can probably find one for $50.

Forgot to add that we occasionally use one on Windows called Flash Video Studio by a company called increditools (I think). It's a nice little app as it adds the player skins, creates the .flv and .swf files as well as an .html file that you can just copy and paste to embed the flash video into another web page.

If you're on a MAC....others would have to chime in with suggestions.

Thanks Chris,
For me, it loaded right away but was slow and jerky to play until it all loaded. I am using a Mac and will start searching for the applications. I would like to add a decent skin once I get my videos uploaded.

Thanks again,
John

[Chris Blair] "If you're on a MAC"

Chris, I'll certainly take you more seriously if you didn't write Mac (short for Macintosh) in all-caps.
A 'MAC' is a Migration Authorisation Code.
