• | Sorenson Squeeze reducing resolution by 2 pixels
on Apr 29, 2009 at 4:48:45 pm |
I'm taking a 640x480 video and using Squeeze to transcode it (WMV file format). However, when it's completed, the video is now 638x480. Just curious as to why this might be. I have tried setting the frame size setting to both "same as source" and 640x480 but the final video is still coming out at 638x480. Not a huge deal, but I can't figure out why it's doing that. Any ideas?
Thanks!

[Ted Buras] "but the final video is still coming out at 638x480"
What's telling you it's that frame size?

Media Player shows it as 638x480. I also loaded the file into Sorenson, and it too is showing that resolution.

What if you use a format other than WMV?

Just rendered a clip in MOV and it also came out to 638x480. Hmph.

Have you grt any kind of cropping/resizing mashup going on in your profile?
Does this happen with a fresh unused preset?
What if you give it some other sized source?

Used a new template but no luck.
So I loaded a smaller video (480 x 360) and ran my current template on it (which is set to render at 640 x 480) and it came out 640 x 480. Changed the setting to "same as source" and it stayed at 480 x 360.
Yet, when using the original 640 x 480 AVI, it comes out 638 x 480. Argh!
BTW - thanks for your help with this!
