Best setting in apple compressor to encore for Blu ray....
on Nov 27, 2008 at 8:15:38 pm

Hello everyone,

I have been in these forums for a while, this is my first post though.

Ok, I am tring to compress a HDV 1440 by 1080 60i file for encore using apple compressor. Can anyone please guide me in the right direction please?

Also, I got sorenson squeeze a while back as a gift (version 4 not 5). Should I use that or apple compressor?

Either way if someone can give me a walk through of the settings for either I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks everyone..... :-)

No offense intended, but have you heard of Google?

Top of the results is:

I am a huge fan of Compressor. Sorenson Squeeze is a valid tool and costs much less than Compressor (especially if you do not use or need the rest of the Final Cut Studio suite).

Check this out, it should start you down the right path: http://pixelcorps.cachefly.net/macbreak-165-540p-h264.mov

Please share any useful tutorials you may have hidden in your bookmarks with the rest of the class.

Thanks.

yes, thank you for that info. I actually ran across that video earlier in my search. I know people say to use MPEG2, but are there settings like bit rate or motion render "best" "good" that you recommend using...?

thanks again....
